How to access Parental Control dashboard in TechGenie Total Security and Absolute?

Parental Control enables you to control access to the Internet and to specific applications for each user holding a user account on the system.
 

Once you have configured Parental Control, you can easily track what a user is doing on the computer. This feature is very effective when it comes to protect your children from online stalkers, predators or those who befriend the innocent for nefarious purposes.
 

The Parental Control dashboard is organized into modules from where you can monitor a user’s activities on the computer. It basically enables you to control the access to the Internet and to specific applications for a specific user. It is basically used to monitor your child’s activities including his Facebook account activities.
 

Here’s how you can access the Parental Control dashboard:
 

  1. Open the Antivirus window.
  2. Open Parental Control tab on the upper toolbar.
  3. Configure User Accounts window appears that displays the list of users holding a user account on the system.
  4. Select the user account you want to configure for Parental Control settings.
  5. Account Setting window appears, that displays the following icons on dashboard:
  6. Parental Control Status – If you don’t want to control access to the Internet and to specific applications for users you can turn-off the feature.
  7. User Group – Select the user group from User Group drop-down menu to determine for which age group you want to configure Parental Control.
  8. Web control: In this you can specify the URL’s you want Parental Control to block. If you don’t want to control access to the URLS’s then you can turn off the feature.
  9. Application Control: In this you can browse and add applications you want Parental Control to block. If you don’t want to browse and add applications then you can turn off the feature.
  10. Keywords Control: In this you can specify keywords you want Parental Control to block. If you don’t want to control access to online material related to these particular keywords then you can turn off the feature.
  11. Categories Control: This feature filters websites by content category and if you don’t want to control access using categories you can turn off the feature.
  12. Click Settings to access web, application, keywords and categories control icons.
